Dec 14 2015
The last day of class was only a morning session 8.30am - 12.30pm with a 30 min break of Pranayama lying down and sitting. Geeta gave much detail and explanation as to how and why as well as ill effects of over-doing it . She gave so much throughout the course ...an incredible teacher! Really hoping for and looking forward to another Yoganushasanam in 2016!
- One of the chief organizers of the event thanking Geeta at the conclusion
- The 60 volunteers in yellow t-shirts who assisted in everything from getting registration packs together , badges, bus passes , meal passes, the prop kits which had 4 blankets in each bag and they were folded by these generous people from all countries.
- The teachers who assisted Geeta also did a fabulous job of making sure all participants understood the instructions and assisted with issues that any participant might have..and there were quite a few.
- All the teachers who assisted Geeta with on-stage demonstrations and were assigned to each of the 8 groups. They were from RIMYI and from the Mumbai studio.
- Geeta and Abhijata on stage… and a standing ovation and expression of gratitude to Geeta from all participants
- Back at the hotel. ..debriefing the events of the day in particular , but the 8 days in general. We are on 23 floor. The afternoon sunlight didn’t help to capture the wonderful view with hills in the background. From left to right – me, Kay Perry from Australia and Leanne who teaches at (Yoga4AllBodies) in Reston
And a trip down Ferguson College Road...
It's the main drag in the area and the haunt for all who go to Pune to study at RIMYI.
- The Luck Now Cafe has been there …looking the same , since my first trip in 1990 (and I understand for much longer than that) – very popular with the locals. We have to stop in for their piping hot sweet chai! Here you see the area where you pick up the chai or coffee as well as the large pot on what looks like a portable burner where the liquid gold is produced – quick and easy.
- Next stop is Vaishali – the go-to place for yummy South Indian food – masala dosa, idli, sambar vada. It is amazing to watch how this restaurant functions. In spite of the all the people vying for a table there are no lines – just a sea of people surging , though not aggressively , toward the man who seats people in crowded tables with the servers moving through carrying trays of food and drinks . A sight to see and experience. A delicious plate of Uthappam – a South Indian savory crepe topped with veggies.
- Kay and Leanne at the restaurant
- Yummy Masala Dosa!
