Workshop – The Core!

When someone mentions “core muscles”most of us would think of the abdominal muscles in the front of the torso, maybe they might think of the transverse and oblique abdominals. In fact, the core consists of all the above as well as the pelvic floor, multiifidis, gluteus medius, abductors and adductors (inner and outer thigh muscles), the psoas, the diaphragm and a few others.

Knowing how and when these are activated in our yoga practice will increase your general strength and this in turn can prevent many over use injuries due to weakness in some muscle groups.
