Workshop – The Sacroiliac Joint: Basic Anatomy and Function
Wednesdays - February 21, 28, March 7, 14
The SI joint is involved in just about every yoga pose we practice. It is the hub for the transference of force between the legs and torso. It is designed to be a stable joint with limited mobility but with an imbalance of musculature and improper body mechanics it can become destabilized. Over four weeks we will look at the basic anatomy of the Sacroiliac Joint, what factors lead to an unstable SI joint, how to correct the instability, and how to work in the asanas safely.
